India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) in collaboration with National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) and VJTI conducted a survey of the Cyber Security Readiness of several Indian utilities (Discoms, Transcos, Gencos including Power Grid and POSOCO) and detailed findings and recommendations were shared with the respective utilities. The Top-Ten Findings & Recommendations from that survey were issued to all power utilities in the country with an advisory from Government of India to attend to those issues on top priority.
As cyber security of power systems is becoming increasingly important, there is a burning need to educate key stakeholders in all utilities and the industry about the potential threats and remedial measures. ISGF regularly conducts workshops on Cyber Security for Power Systems. The faculty for these workshops includes experts from the Government, ISGF Member Organizations and leading R&D organizations in India.
This workshop is spread over 3 days and covers the following topics:
Smart Grid Pilot Projects and ISGF Updates, Smart Grid Communications, Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructure and Role of NCIIPC, NERC CIP (Version 5) Standards for Electricity Reliability, Understanding Threats and Attacks on Smart Grids, Role of Data Analytics in Securing Smart Grids, Cyber Security Framework for Smart Grids (Design and Implementation), Anatomy of a Cyber Attack: A case study of STUXNET, NCIIPC Framework for Evaluating Cyber Security in Critical Information Infrastructure, Mapping NCIIPC Controls to Attack Vectors, Cyber Security Audit and Assessment for Smart Grids, Building Cyber Attack Resilience and ISGF-NCIIPC Cyber Security Assessment Project for the Indian Power sector.
Now we have launched another series of half-day workshops which will be conducted in different states.Who May Attend:
