The Japanese government is considering the allocation of 50 billion yen ($415 million) to subsidize installations of storage systems for solar power, the Yomiuri newspaper reported.
The government plans to help utilities and solar power producers install systems as part of a supplementary budget for the fiscal year ending March 31, the paper reported, without saying where it got the information.
The government will release a set of economic stimulus measures on Dec. 27, including plans to promote clean energy, Yomiuri said.
