The first ever Smart City Hackathon will begin on Friday at GPHouse, the corporate head office of Grameenphone.
The purpose of the 36-hour hackathon is to find digital solutions for many problems of Dhaka, said an official release on Thursday.
The hackathon will be arranged by Preneurlab and White Board, an initiative of Grameenphone, added the release.
Annisul Huq, mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation will inaugurate the event.
30 teams will participate in the hackathon. The winning team will win three months co-working space at White-Board with access to GP’s digital ecosystem.
Moreover, White-Board will provide relevant knowledge and asset support to solidify the winning prototype.
A special demo day will be arranged through White-Board for commercial presentation.
A 6-month start-up mentorship support will be provided by Preneur Lab in addition to 6-month mentorship from IEEE BDS and IPR, as well as incubation support from Dnet (Junction).
Spider Digital (Dubai) and the ICT Division of the MOPT will provide funding opportunity of up to Tk 2.5 million respectively to the winning team. - IH
