Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a workshop in cooperation with Enel, a global market leader in energy sector. The workshop focused on the digitalisation and management of smart networks, and the advanced infrastructure of smart cities. It was held in adherence with the vision of the wise leadership, to streamline the smart transformation of Dubai by enhancing cooperation with international organisations.
The workshop held at the Raffles Hotel – Dubai, and witnessed the attendance of senior officials, experts and scientists from both organisations. The workshop was organised as the result of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between both organisations last January, to establish framework for cooperation, to exchange knowledge and enhance smart network management.
The workshop focused on Enel’s strategy for smart network development, and production, transmission and distribution systems, in addition to the integration of renewable energy sources and advanced metering infrastructure.
“We are committed to achieving the Smart Dubai initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world by facilitating partnerships with international organisations, to benefit from their experiences, in adherence with DEWA’s strategy for 2021, and the Dubai Plan 2021, to transform Dubai into a smart, integrated, and connected city,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
