India : Rajasthan government to showcase status of smart city projects

JAIPUR: The Jaipur Smart Mission Ltd (JSML) is all set to showcase the status of implementation of various projects and its achievements on the second anniversary (June 25) of Centre's ambitious Smart Cities Mission project.

A review meeting on Monday was called in this regard. Sources said, it was discussed to revise the project cost of many projects before launching them on anniversary.

A senior official said the JSML will put on display many projects such as smart classroom, renovation of Rajasthan School of Art in Kishanpole Bazaar which have been completed. The mission has also proposed to lay the foundation stone for smart roads, etc.

JSML has decided to develop model roads in eight bazaars under the smart city project. The JSML has proposed to develop nearly 10km smart road separately in the Walled City area. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 16 crore.

As per the proposal, the road will be equipped with smart facilities such as intelligent passenger system, smart lights, ducting system, bio-toilets, WiFi, etc.
