India : 3rd Solar India Expo

Exhibition India Group in partnership with India Smart Grid Forum is organising the 3rd edition of Solar India 2018 expo which is part of Smart Cities India Expo and will be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 23-25 May 2018. The theme of the exhibition and conference is “Solar Energy for a Sustainable Future.”

Over 300 million people still have no access to electricity, which is why solar power is being seen as a viable, long-term source of clean energy. Solar energy, a clean renewable resource with zero emissions, has tremendous potential of energy to be harnessed using a variety of devices. India is on course to emerge as a solar power hub, and will become one of the largest green energy producers in the world. Prime Minister Modi has an ambitious target to achieve 100 GW of solar power capacity by 2022 with an estimated investment of around US$ 100 billion. 

With the above background, the key elements that the Solar India Expo intends to cover are Rooftop solar, Battery storage, Ground mounted solar, Solar cities, Smart villages, Micro grids, Street lighting, Energy efficient products and Government initiative. It will bring together India’s leading experts on solar energy coming from various fields like industry, utility, academia, technology solution providers etc.  The Expo will have conference sessions, workshops, summits and awards.

The event has received support from various Government Institutions and Ministries’ like Housing and Urban Affairs, Department Science & Technology, Electronics and Information Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Panchayat Raj, Power, Road Transport & Highways, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Water Resources , River Development &  Ganga Rejuvenation, NSIC, Make in India and Swach Bharat Abhijaan and Digital India Initiative.
