Trying to decide between a standalone solar powered unit or a grid-tied system for your house? Confused about the subsidy on a biogas plant? Afraid about being ripped off by vendors of renewable energy systems?
Now you can put these concerns to rest. The Agency for Non conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT), an autonomous body under the State government, has launched a single window portal offering a secure online marketplace for renewable energy systems and devices. Customers can log on to www.buymysun.com, register online, and search for and compare products offered by empanelled vendors. Solar power plants are available from ₹1.5 lakh onwards and domestic and community biogas plants from ₹15,000. Also featured are solar cookers, solar PV home lighting and street lighting systems, solar water heaters, improved chulha, and aero generators.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the portal on June 5. Customers can order a system on the portal by paying online. Buyers are required to validate Aadhaar details to avail of subsidy which will be credited to their Aadhaar-linked bank account.
