Students of St. Joseph's College have uploaded 101 Smart City apps in Google Play Store, as an outcome of an MoU between its Department of Computer Science and Climat Smart Technologies (CST), Pollachi.
The MoU documents exchanged between Principal Rev. Fr. M. Arokiasamy and Founder CEO of CST Jeevanandhan Duraisamy envisages imparting of training to the students for full stack Android App development. The apps will be made available on Google Play Store, Mr. Jeevanandhan said.
The two sides decided that 100 trainees should be part of the first batch to develop 100 Smart City Trichy Android apps as part of Appathon training and learn to publish them in Google Play store to become a basic full stack developer.
For the students, it was an opportunity to learn more about the major technology shift from Windows to Android platform.
CST has deployed two master trainers: one for Overall Smart City app design, Google play console and publishing in Google play store, and the other for teaching Android codes in XML, Java, PHP and MySql as the full stack programme needs only one full stack trainer to avoid code conflicts at basic level.
The college has kept the City Corporation informed about the progress of the training programme, the organisers said.
