Toyota AI Ventures, a subsidiary of the Toyota Research Institute, recently announced the launch a Fund II, which is a new $100 million fund assigned for investment in start-ups involved in the autonomous mobility and robotics markets. Founded in 2017, Toyota AI Ventures has invested in 19 start-ups in under two years. And with Fund II, Toyota AI Ventures now has more than $200 million for investment in and support of start-ups across the globe.
Jim Adler, Managing Director, Toyota AI Ventures, said, "Auto manufacturers must participate in the startup ecosystem to stay ahead of the rapid shift in the auto industry. Investing in startups creates long-term relationships that help Toyota explore the latest innovations in mobility."
