Both India and France have launched ambitious programs to develop smart grids on their territory. In France, 35 million Linky Smart Meters will be deployed by the end of 2021, concluding a 6-year program with a budget of 5-billion euros. In India, the Smart Meter National Programme aims to install more than 250 million smart meters in the next few years, making it one of the world's largest deployment programs.
The Indo-French cooperation includes flagship projects such as the commercial rollout of 5-million smart meters in India by French company EDF through a tender with Energy Efficiency Services Limited. The first milestone of the contract, with 100,000 smart meter installed, was completed on December 2020 in the state of Bihar and involved French smart grid players Schneider Electric, Atos, EDF and Sagemcom.URL : Please click here for Details
